The Mission
I’m thrilled to share my latest travel mission with you: visiting the 7 New Wonders of the World! This adventure is all about seeing more of this amazing planet and experiencing some of the most incredible historical sites ever built. There’s no set timeline for me to tick them all off, it’s more about the journey, the excitement, and the memories I’ll create along the way. Just thinking about standing in front of these incredible and stunning sites, gives me goosebumps and makes me even more excited to get stuck in!
Two wonders I’m especially excited about are Machu Picchu and Petra. The thought of walking through the narrow canyons and seeing the stunning Treasury emerge in front of me is sure to be pure magic! Of course, every single wonder on the list has its own unique charm and story, and I can’t wait to be amazed by them all. This mission isn’t just about ticking boxes; it’s about soaking up the beauty, culture, and history of these incredible places. My Progress so far

I have visited my first two wonders of the world!! Allow me to introduce to you the Colosseum and Petra✨.
Visiting the Colosseum
Visiting the Colosseum was an experience that completely exceeded my expectations: it was even more breathtaking in person than I could have ever imagined!
As someone from the UK, it’s definitely the easiest of the 7 Wonders of the World to visit, with only a short flight required. In fact, I managed to squeeze it into a day trip to Rome from London! Wandering through this iconic landmark and soaking up its rich history was fascinating, and I had so much fun learning about the incredible and almost unbelievable history of the Colosseum. Even now, I find it hard to fully grasp the sheer scale of the battles that took place there and the vast crowds that it would attract. It’s a place that truly makes history come alive, and it’s an experience I’ll never forget!
Below are some of my favourite pictures from my 1st Wonder of the World:

Visiting Petra
Petra was in my top 2 Wonders that I was most excited to visit and it’s safe to say that it DID NOT disappoint!!
Visiting Petra was a surreal experience and my top advice is to wander beyond the Treasury. I absolutely loved hiking to the High Place of Sacrifice and the Roman Theatre was a particular favourite spot for me. Petra is full at beauty at every corner and it really has to be visited to fully understand why it is a World Wonder (and rightly so)!

FAQs
Below are the questions that I get asked the most often when I tell people that I’m visiting the 7 Wonders of the World. If you have a question about this mission, that isn’t below, feel free to email me and I’ll be happy to answer 😊
Why did you choose the 7 Wonders of the World as a travel mission?
I have always been fascinated by the idea of the 7 wonders of the world. When I was growing up, I was particularly amazed by the Taj Mahal and Great Wall of China however, I always thought that visiting them would be a pipe dream due to the long distance needed to travel, with not a lot of time to do so. However, I have recently been inspired by YouTube group, the Sidemen, who created a video of them visiting each wonder of the world in separate teams. Each team seemed to spend a maximum of 4 days in the country of their wonder. This included seeing the wonder, alongside experiencing the local food and culture. This highlighted to me that time should not be a deciding factor and if the Sidemen can do it, then so can I!😁
Which wonders have you visited so far?
So far I have visited the Colosseum and Petra but I do have more wonders on the horizon and I’m very excited to continue to explore the wonders of the world.
What tips do you have for visiting these famous sites?
My top tip is ensure you have plenty of time to visit each wonder to ensure that you’re able to fully immerse yourself in the experience without having to rush back to the airport. I would also advise researching in advance the best transportation method to reach each one to make sure that your experience is as smooth as possible. If you can afford it, I would also advise getting a guide so that you learn all that there is to know about each wonder. Every wonder is incredible in its own right with so much history, it would be a shame to miss out on learning about the history behind each one. Although, if you’re strapped for cash, you can find lots of information about each wonder online.
Which wonder are you most excited to visit?
I personally cannot wait to visit Petra, Jordan. I’ve only really seen pictures of the Treasury in Petra but I know that there is so much more to the city than that, with heaps of history behind it. This is why I’m particularly excited for Petra and I would prefer to do it sooner rather than later because I don’t want too much of it to be spoiled for me online, before I get the chance to witness it for myself.
EDIT: I have now been to Petra and it was everything that I was hoping it would be🥰
Machu Picchu is the second wonder that I’m most excited for but this is mainly because I’m eager to visit Peru and to learn more about the history of Machu Picchu.
Do you plan to expand this mission after completing the 7 wonders?
I don’t believe that I will expand this mission, however I have been debating for a little while whether I should visit the Ancient Pyramids as an honourable mention. I am aware that the Pyramids are not a New Wonder of the World, however, being the last standing ancient wonder, it seems fitting to see it with my own eyes. If I do decide to visit the pyramids, this will likely not be part of a challenge and more of a personal goal.
Once I have completed visiting the 7 New Wonders of the World, I will be looking for my next adventure, so if you have any ideas, please do let me know via email.
