What Happens in Vegas…
A week full of partying, shows, casinos, concerts and helicopter rides. Welcome to Vegas!!

Visiting Vegas is on a lot of people’s bucket lists and I can assure you that there is a very good reason for that! As soon as we arrived in Vegas, we were immediately met by a hectic atmosphere. Everywhere that you turn is full of both locals and tourists, eager to make the most of the Vegas experience.
I have to begin by warning about the heat. I visited Vegas at the end of June, therefore the heat was unbearable at times. Ranging from 35 – 45 degrees, with very little shade, walking around in the sun can quickly become a chore. One day I even struggled to walk from one side of the strip to the other! Because of this, the hotels and casinos take full advantage of the fact that tourists are much more willing to stay in air-conditioned venues and this is where the real money is made (or lost!). Each hotel has a large, full functioning casino inside with a variety of different tables as well as hundreds of slot machines. If you enjoy gambling responsibly, Vegas is definitely a place to visit.
As well as being home to large casinos, Vegas hotels are fascinating in their own right. Each hotel has its own theme ranging from the theme of New York to a hotel transfomed into a replica of Venice with gondolas travelling through the lobby. I would highly recommend visiting every hotel whilst in Vegas as they are all incredible in their own unique way and the majority are in close proximity to one another. The majority of hotels are also home to some of the liveliest nightlife within Vegas with clubs and bars being located in various Vegas hotels. Partying in Vegas is an experience unlike any other with some clubs being the home of swimming pools as well as large dance floors. You really do have to experience the Vegas nightlife to believe it!
Whilst in Vegas, it would be a shame to not view a show as Vegas is also known for its magical and extraordinary performances that are out of this world. I chose to see ‘O’ by Cirque du Soleil which was without a doubt, the most exciting and outstanding show that I have ever seen. Whilst in Vegas, Britney Spears was on her residency period and as you can imagine, my friend and I felt that it would be a crime to not witness a Britney show! The whole spectacle was as outrageous and over the top as you would hope from a Vegas show and it is safe to say, love her or hate her, Britney’s performance definitely kept up with the entire Vegas persona.
My favourite day of my Vegas experience was by far the day that included a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon. I’ve always heard fascinating things about the Grand Canyon so when I had the chance to visit one of the world’s natural wonders, I knew that I had to do it in style. I opted for a helicopter ride that flies over the major parts of the Grand Canyon including some popular spots such as Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. The whole experience was incredible, ending with a picnic in the Grand Canyon. An experience that I will never forget. You can read more about my Grand Canyon experience here.
