When it comes to planning a trip, I know how overwhelming it can feel. That’s why I’ve pulled together all my favourite go-to websites and tools to help make your travel planning as easy (and enjoyable!) as possible.

Where I Find the Best Hotels

Booking.com

Booking.com is almost always my first stop when searching for places to stay. Whether I’m after a boutique hotel, a cosy B&B, or a luxury resort, I love how many options they have and how easy it is to filter by price, location, and guest ratings. Plus, their flexible booking options are a lifesaver when plans change!

Intercontinental Hotels

Intercontinental is one of my favourite and most trusted Hotel brands when visiting destinations across the globe. Intercontinental is a global company with luxury hotels located throughout Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas, making them a great choice for all of your hotel needs. I have stayed in Intercontinental Berlin and Intercontinental Amman and they are two of my favourite hotels that I’ve ever stayed in! Plus the breakfast buffet at each are, without a doubt, the best breakfast selections that I’ve ever seen so that’s worth the visit alone!

PremierInn (UK Destinations)

PremierInn is one my go-to choice when I’m staying in London or other parts of the UK. They’re reliable, comfortable, and affordable, which makes them perfect for city breaks when you want a great night’s sleep without breaking the bank. I stay in Premier Inns regularly and they never disappoint, especially when I want to be right in the heart of the action.

Voyage Privé

If you’re dreaming of luxury for less, Voyage Privé is an absolute gem. They offer exclusive, members-only deals on high-end hotels and holidays — think 4- and 5-star stays at amazing prices. It’s well worth signing up (for free) to access their handpicked offers.

TravelUp

TravelUp is fantastic for piecing together great-value holiday packages. I often use them to find brilliant deals on flights and hotels, especially when I want a bit more flexibility than a traditional package holiday offers.

Jet2holidays

Jet2holidays are one of my top picks for stress-free, package holidays. Their customer service is excellent, and the prices often include generous baggage allowances and transfers, which can save you a lot of hassle (and money!) compared to booking everything separately.

lastminute.com

When spontaneity strikes, lastminute.com is my go-to. They’re perfect for snapping up late deals on hotels, flights, and city breaks. If you’re feeling adventurous, their ‘Top Secret Hotels’ deals can get you big discounts on luxury stays — you just find out the hotel name after booking!

How I Book Tours and Experiences

GetYourGuide

I always check GetYourGuide when I’m looking for tours, activities, or skip-the-line tickets. They have an enormous range (from guided walking tours to adrenaline activities) and it’s a brilliant way to discover experiences you might not have found otherwise.

Tripadvisor

Beyond reading reviews, Tripadvisor is a great platform for booking tours and excursions. I like that you can easily compare prices and see honest feedback from other travellers before committing.

Viator

Viator (part of Tripadvisor) is another solid option for booking day trips, tours, and activities, especially if you want a bit more choice. I often find their cancellation policies really flexible, which is super reassuring when you’re planning ahead.

Getting Around: Transport Tips

Trainline

Whenever I’m travelling by train around the UK or across Europe, Trainline is a must. It’s so easy to compare routes, check live schedules, and snag cheaper advance tickets. I love how simple it makes booking cross-country or cross-border rail journeys.

Travel Insurance You Can Trust

Travel insurance is one of those things you hope you’ll never need, but it’s so important to have, just in case. I always recommend making sure you’re properly covered before you travel, especially if you’re planning any adventurous activities!

I usually start by comparing policies on Comparethemarket.com. It’s a really handy way to see lots of options side-by-side and find a deal that fits your trip and your budget.

Depending on the type of trip I’m taking, I’ve also personally used:

• Aviva for more standard travel insurance when I’m sticking to city breaks and beach holidays.
• Visitors Coverage are great if you’re looking for an easy, flexible online option. They have a wide range of travel insurance plans and are especially great for more complicated itineraries or longer trips.
• True Traveller for more adventurous travels — like when I climbed Kilimanjaro! Their policies are brilliant for covering trekking, high-altitude activities, and even helicopter rescue, all for a really fair price.

It’s always worth double-checking the small print (especially if you’re doing something a little out of the ordinary) to make sure you’re properly covered.
