Kilimanjaro in Pictures
Climbing Kilimanjaro was an experience of a lifetime, filled with incredible views, tough challenges, and unforgettable moments. While words can only do so much to describe the journey, I wanted to share some of my favourite photos that capture the essence of this adventure. From breathtaking sunrises to magical cloud formations, each picture tells a part of my story.
Summit
Reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro was my proudest achievement, but as you can see, I was completely wrapped up in layers against the freezing temperatures! The first picture was taken at Stella Point, just 200 metres below the summit. Although the final push was incredibly tough, standing at the top made every step worth it.

Stunning Views during the Northern Circuit Route
The Northern Circuit route treated me to some of the most beautiful scenery on the mountain. These two pictures were taken on a particularly sunny day, when the landscape looked even more dramatic. In the second image, you’ll notice a series of small rocks perfectly stacked among the larger boulders: these were placed by hikers along the trails, leaving their mark on the mountain.

Within the Clouds at Camp
One of my favourite things about the trek was exploring the different camps, each offering a unique atmosphere. This picture captures a peaceful moment as I watched the clouds roll past in the afternoon. Walking through clouds is such a surreal experience – one that I’ll cherish forever.

A starry night with a view of Kilimanjaro
The night skies on Kilimanjaro were nothing short of magical. No picture can truly do justice to the sheer beauty of the stars stretching endlessly above. In the bottom left-hand corner of this image, you can see Kilimanjaro standing tall, illuminated by the night sky. It was a breathtaking sight to fall asleep to!

A View of Kilimanjaro from 3600 metres
After a long and exhausting hike, reaching this camp (Third Cave) was an incredible relief. The view of Kilimanjaro from this point was simply stunning, and I was grateful to take a moment to soak it all in. Sometimes, the best part of the journey is stopping to appreciate how far you’ve come.

Sunrise at Summit
This has to be one of my all-time favourite photos! Watching the sunrise from the summit of Kilimanjaro was an indescribable moment. The colours, the atmosphere, and the overwhelming sense of achievement made it truly unforgettable. If there’s one image that sums up the magic of this adventure, it’s this one.
